Heaven in Earth is a unique garden and homeware shop for discerning gardeners that is run by Jocelyn and Justin Van Hoven. Realising a gap in the market for traditional garden products and quality items not produced on mass in Asia, we began sourcing and learning.
We initially started Heaven in Earth to satisfy our desire for quality garden accessories previously only available from Europe. Another aim was to ensure a high content of Australian made products.
We are powered by the sun, with all energy being supplied through our solar panels. We minimally package, using biodegradable products or reuse packaging destined for landfill. We hope that our many bespoke products will enhance your time in the garden and enrich your home.
In our tenth year, many of our products are made using either a renewable source or from companies with a similar philosophy to ours. Products are sourced from Europe including England, France and Germany, with other items hand made in Australia. Heaven in Earth sponsors our local Landcare Group which assists in maintaining and regenerating natural bush on the NSW south coast.
Previously, Jocelyn ran a garden maintenance and design business in Sydney, and Justin had an excellent tree surgery business. Both being horticulturists, we adore plants, outdoors and the health and joys that goes along with working outside.
We started Heaven in Earth after the birth of our son, Scott, and we moved to nine acres on the South Coast, NSW. Here we produce many items found in our catalogue. Other products are made by local people or sourced from Australian makers.
Heaven in Earth is now the producer of an array of quality slate homeware and garden items, first and unsurpassed in the market place.
We also import many items from England and France, including the products from companies we represent, Nutscene, and Creamore Mill. In 2011 we started DIM - The Imaginary Factory and East of India, with Garden trading joining later in the year. We launched East of India to showcase the superb East of India.
In 2013 we launched Baileys Home & Garden which we feel, compliments our range of traditional, well made, companies.
In 2014 we increased our German brush range from a company in production for over 120 years, plus added Queen Bee Handmade soaps, all organic, luxury soaps.
Now in 2015, we moved out of home to a new warehouse but kept our slate production in on our land at home.
